BLOOD-STAINED ROADS FIVE: SWORN BROTHER

This is an entry on the Blood-Stained Roads Table. You can see the main table HERE

SWORN BROTHER
In this adventure hook, the players are stopped in the road by an impetuous youth who calls himself Iron Foot. He isn’t very skilled and likely poses no challenge to the party, but he says he’s heard of their skills and wants to test their kung fu. If they refuse he attacks furiously. If they accept he engages them and banters sharply but with grudging respect. If he beats the party, he gloats but otherwise their day remains uneventful. If they beat him and are cordial, he acknowledges their supremacy and asks if they can teach him a few tricks. In either case, these outcomes don’t lead to anything exceptional. However if they humiliate him or seriously harm him, he goes to his sworn brother, Yang Tuo (see page 341 of the WHOG Rulebook). Yang Tuo later tries to track them down and teach them a lesson. This could be a problem, but will likely just result in a single combat. Should they kill Iron Foot, then when word reaches Yang Tuo he seeks revenge against the party and nothing short of their deaths will suffice.

IRON FOOT
Iron Foot is a young martial hero who has had a taste of victory and been testing his skills against other martial heroes. He is impulsive and easily angered, but also respects anyone with talent and ability. He thinks highly of himself and is sworn brothers with the hero Yang Tuo (WHOG, 341). His father, is a member of Majestic Lion Cult and taught him most of his Kung Fu.
