LEGENDS OF OGRE GATE: TORMENT OF THE PHOENIX

At Wuxia World, you can follow the story of Sunan and Bao in the Legends of Ogre Gate series by Deathblade. The latest chapter is available HERE. If you want to start from the beginning, check out the INDEX

Here is a new Kung Fu technique based on one of Bao's moves in the story and a new Poem:

TORMENT OF THE PHOENIX
Discipline: Dianxue
Skill: Arm Strike and Medicine
Type: Normal
Qi: 3

You curl two fingers into a hook-like point, feinting to distract your opponent as you press into their neck with the fingertips of your other hand, and send a flash of burning pain through their body.

Make an Arm Strike roll against Parry. Any attempt to counter this is made at -1d10. On a Success, make a Medicine Roll TN 6. If the Medicine Roll succeeds the target experiences terrible pain that imposes a -1d10 to all Skills for 1 round per rank of Dianxue.

This technique only works on characters of equal or lower Qi rank.

Cathartic: Make an Arm Strike Roll against Parry. Any attempt to counter this is made at -2d10. On a Success, make a Medicine Roll TN 6. On a Success you impose a -2d10 to all Skills for a number of rounds equal to Dianxue. On a Total Success the target passes out from the pain for 1 round. This effect only works on characters of equal or lower Qi rank.

THE FIRST BATTLE OF DAOLU
This is a widely known poem, according to legend found written upon a a fan in the city of Daolu soon after Sunan and Bao formally greeted one another in Daolu and had friendly duel with each other. The poem simply tells the story of the exchange of blows, but each strike is described in a way that foreshadows future events. However, there are many versions of this poem, more than a dozen. The largest difference between them is who won the duel. Some claim it was Bao, some claim it was Sunan, others introduce a third competitor, such as Sun Mai, who muddies the results. To this day, the question of who won is hotly contested.
